La Gaceta Sindical del 23 diciembre de 2024 decía:
“El acuerdo alcanzado para la reducción de la jornada laboral a 37,5 horas semanales marca un hito histórico en la mejora de las condiciones laborales en España. Este avance no solo responde a una demanda histórica del movimiento sindical, sino que también supone un reconocimiento de los cambios estructurales en la economía y el mercado laboral, el aumento de la productividad no se ha reflejado de manera proporcional en los salarios ni en la calidad de vida de las personas trabajadoras.
La reducción de jornada, acompañada de medidas como el registro horario digital, el derecho a la desconexión digital y la garantía de que no se verán reducidos los salarios, sienta las bases para una redistribución más justa de los beneficios económicos. Además, este acuerdo se posiciona como una herramienta clave para combatir desigualdades estructurales, particularmente en sectores feminizados y entre las personas con contratos a tiempo parcial.
En un contexto global donde el equilibrio entre vida personal y laboral cobra cada vez más relevancia, este paso no solo es necesario, sino imprescindible. Garantizar más tiempo de vida para la clase trabajadora es un avance hacia una sociedad más equitativa y con mejores oportunidades para todos.
El desafío ahora es garantizar una implementación efectiva del acuerdo y velar por que su tramitación parlamentaria no desvirtúe su esencia. Solo con el compromiso colectivo de sindicatos, empresas y administraciones públicas será posible materializar este nuevo derecho que mejora, sin lugar a duda, el presente y futuro de la clase trabajadora”.
No faltará quien diga que no toca reducir la jornada a 37,5 horas semanales sin reducción salarial y quien profetice el enésimo apocalipsis la boral, como con la subida del SMI o el coto a la temporalidad –o con la esclavitud, el trabajo infantil o la jornada laboral en 40 horas–. Sin embargo, la historia de los avances sociales nos enseña que se puede y se debe avanzar en derechos, “hacia una sociedad que garantice una vida buena, que merezca ser vivida y que permita llegar a final de mes sin miedos”.
Seguimos demostrando que somos útiles a la clase trabajadora y que tenemos capacidad suficiente para hacer frente a la diversidad del mundo laboral. Somos un sindicato de trabajadores y trabajadoras; y, para tener más de 100.000 delegadas y delegados elegidos democráticamente en las empresas, hay que ser una organización muy pegada al terreno.
